Prairie Plein Air Artists

Artists are invited to come to Medora on Tuesday. You may paint as you wish on Tuesday. We will plan to meet at 7:30PM Central Time at Boots Bar & Grill in Medora for supper and to discuss our plans for painting on Wednesday. Artists are free to paint anywhere they choose, including Theodore Roosevelt National Park. NOTE: Each person is responsible for arranging for his/her own lodging for Tuesday night. Our plan will be to paint various locations around Medora, or in the Park on Wednesday, and return home on Weds evening. We will be notifying the Badlands Art Association to invite them to paint as well.

Paint out at Ft Lincoln State Park, 4480 Fort Lincoln Rd, Mandan. Meet in the visitors center parking lot at 6:00PM. We will paint until 8:30PM. A state park pass is needed.

Paint Out- Ft Mandan, Washburn,ND

Artists are invited by the park to paint between 11:00AM and 5:00PM on either or both days.  Muzzle loader reenactors may be at nearby Fahlgren Grove on Saturday, shooting and doing historic demonstrations.  Artists who attend this paint out are invited to enter their works in a Prairie Plein Air Artists show to be held at Fort Mandan from July 13^th to October 15^th!  You are welcome to brown bag it or go to Washburn for lunch if you chose to stay either day.  Ft Mandan is approximately 2 miles west of the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center at Washburn.

The Prairie Plein Air Artists group are having a Paint Out on campus as part of the spring Art Quest program. Karen Bakke will facilitate the event. Gather at Lea Hall to start at 12:00 noon, paint till 3:30PM then gather for final critique by Karen at 4:00PM.

The reception for “Capturing the Moment” at Bismarck State College’s Gannon Gallery was well attended. Several PPAA artists were present. The Show runs through April 11, 2019. Several pieces are for sale. Special acknowledgments to Gallery Curator–Andrea Fagerstrom, refreshments–BSC and promotion–BSC ArtsQuest.

In conjunction with Bismarck State Colleges Spring Art Quest progam, PPAA member artists are having a show called “Capturing the Moment”. It is being held at the Gannon Gallery (2nd floor of the Lea Hall on campus). A reception will be held Monday April 1st from 4-6PM.

The fall meeting and potluck is scheduled for Thursday Sept 27th, 2018 at BAGA starting at 5:30PM. Members and those interested in joing are welcome!

The final scheduled paint out for the 2018 season is set for Wednesday Sept 26th from 5:00PM to 7:30PM at the Sons of Norway Park, 1502 East Expressway, Bismarck.
